What were some nationalist policies enacted by the Maurice Duplessis government ?

Maurice Duplessis, founded the Union National party and was premier of Quebec from
1936 to 1939 and from 1944 to 1959. During these periods, Duplessis defended provincial
autonomy and had numerous battles with Ottawa over federal initiatives in provincial jurisdictions.
