THESE TWO STATEMENTS DESCRIBE THE POPULATION OF NEW FRANCE IN 1666

        1.    The colony's population was made up of French colonists, British colonists and
               Amerindians.
        2.    The population was young and there were far more men than women.
        3.    Most of the population lived in and around the cities of Quebec, Montreal and
               Trois-Rivières.
        4.    The population was old; more than half were between the ages of 50 and 60.
        5.    The majority of the population lived in the northern parts of New France.
